Ingredients

1 French baguette, sliced into 1/2-inch thick rounds

2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and diced

1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, finely chopped (about 10-12 leaves)

1/4 cup balsamic glaze

2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

1 clove garlic, minced

Salt and freshly cracked black pepper, to taste

Optional: 1/2 cup crumbled goat cheese or feta cheese for a creamy topping

Instructions

Prepare the Baguette: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Arrange the baguette slices horizontally on a baking sheet. Brush the tops of the slices generously with olive oil. Toast in the preheated oven for 5-7 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crisp. Keep an eye on them to avoid burning.

Mix the Topping: While the baguette slices are toasting, take a medium-sized bowl and combine the diced strawberries, finely chopped basil, and minced garlic. Drizzle in a tablespoon of olive oil and season the mixture with salt and freshly cracked black pepper to taste. Gently toss all the ingredients together until well combined, being careful not to mash the strawberries.

Assemble the Bruschetta: Once the baguette slices are toasted, remove them from the oven and allow them to cool slightly for about 2 minutes. Take a generous spoonful of the strawberry-basil mixture and artfully place it on top of each slice of toasted baguette, ensuring a beautiful distribution of strawberries and basil.

Add Balsamic Glaze: Drizzle an ample amount of balsamic glaze over each bruschetta, enhancing the dish with a balance of sweetness and acidity. The glaze not only adds flavor but also an appealing glossy finish.

Optional Cheese Topping: If you choose to elevate the bruschetta further, sprinkle a bit of crumbled goat cheese or feta cheese on top of each one. This will add a delightful creaminess and richness that perfectly complements the fresh flavors.

Serve: Arrange the completed bruschetta on a large serving platter or a wooden board for an inviting presentation. Serve immediately while the bread is warm and toasty for the best taste experience!
