1 lb (450g) flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain

3 cups broccoli florets, trimmed

1 red bell pepper, sliced into thin strips

3 cloves garlic, finely minced

1-inch piece of fresh ginger, finely minced

1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce

2 tablespoons oyster sauce

1 tablespoon honey

2 tablespoons vegetable oil, divided

1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water

1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional, for a touch of heat)

Cooked rice or noodles, for serving

Sesame seeds and chopped green onions, for garnish

Marinate the Beef: In a medium bowl, combine the sliced flank steak, 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, minced garlic, minced ginger, and a sprinkle of black pepper. Mix well to coat the beef thoroughly. Allow it to marinate for at least 15 minutes, allowing the flavors to infuse while you prepare the other ingredients.

    Prepare the Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together the remaining soy sauce, oyster sauce, honey, and the cornstarch-water mixture until smooth. Set the sauce aside for later use.

      Sauté the Beef: In a large non-stick skillet or wok, heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, carefully add the marinated beef in a single layer. Stir-fry for approximately 2-3 minutes, until the beef is browned but still slightly pink inside. Remove the beef from the skillet and transfer it to a plate. Set it aside.

        Stir-Fry the Vegetables: In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil. Once heated, toss in the broccoli florets and sliced red bell pepper. Stir-fry for about 4-5 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender-crisp. For enhanced tenderness, you can add a splash of water and cover the skillet for a minute to steam the vegetables slightly.

          Combine Ingredients: Return the sautéed beef to the skillet with the vegetables. Gently pour the prepared sauce mixture over the beef and vegetables.
