Ingredients

8 chicken drumsticks with skin

1/2 cup of honey

1/4 cup of low sodium soy sauce

1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar

4 cloves of garlic, finely minced

1 teaspoon of ground ginger

1 teaspoon of freshly ground black pepper

1 teaspoon of smoked paprika

1 tablespoon of olive oil

1/2 teaspoon of salt

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnishing)

Sesame seeds (optional, for garnishing)

Instructions

Prepare the Marinade: In a medium mixing bowl, combine the honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, minced garlic, ground ginger, black pepper, smoked paprika, olive oil, and salt. Use a whisk to blend all the ingredients until the mixture is smooth and well incorporated.

Marinate the Drumsticks: Take a large resealable plastic bag or a bowl and add the chicken drumsticks. Pour the marinade over the drumsticks, ensuring they are thoroughly coated. Seal the bag tightly or cover the bowl with plastic wrap. Refrigerate for a minimum of 2 hours, allowing the flavors to infuse into the chicken; overnight is recommended for the best taste.

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) to prepare for baking.

Prepare the Baking Dish: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly coat it with cooking spray or oil to prevent the drumsticks from sticking.

Arrange Drumsticks: Carefully remove the drumsticks from the marinade, letting any excess marinade drip off. Place the drumsticks in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, ensuring they have enough space between them for even cooking.

Bake: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake the drumsticks for approximately 35-40 minutes, or until the chicken is thoroughly cooked and has developed a beautiful golden caramelized glaze. If desired, during the last 15 minutes of baking, brush some of the reserved marinade over the drumsticks for an added layer of flavor.

Broil for the Finishing Touch: To achieve a crispy skin, switch your oven to the broil setting in the last 3-5 minutes of cooking. Keep a close watch on them to avoid burning.

Garnish and Serve: Once cooked, remove the drumsticks from the oven and allow them to rest for a few minutes. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley and a sprinkle of sesame seeds if you like. Serve the drumsticks hot alongside your choice of sides, such as fluffy rice or a refreshing salad.
