Ingredients

2 cups plain Greek yogurt

1 cup unsweetened applesauce

1 tablespoon honey (or substitute with maple syrup for a vegan version)

1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1 medium apple, peeled and finely diced (choose tart varieties like Granny Smith or sweet like Honeycrisp)

A pinch of salt

Optional toppings: crushed nuts, raisins, or granola for added crunch and flavor

Instructions

Prepare the Yogurt Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, honey (or maple syrup), vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Whisk thoroughly until the mixture is smooth and creamy, ensuring all ingredients are well incorporated.

Make the Apple Cinnamon Swirl: In a separate bowl, mix the unsweetened applesauce with the ground cinnamon until evenly combined. Gently fold in the finely diced apple until the apple pieces are thoroughly coated with the cinnamon applesauce mixture.

Combine the Mixtures: Carefully fold the apple cinnamon mixture into the yogurt mixture. Use a gentle hand to create a beautiful swirl pattern—aim for a marbled look without completely blending the two mixtures together.

Pipe or Spoon into Molds: Using a piping bag or a spoon, fill silicone disc molds (or mini muffin tins) with the yogurt-apple mixture, smoothing the tops for an even finish. If you don’t have molds, a lined baking sheet will work as well—just dollop spoonfuls of the mixture onto the sheet.

Freeze: Transfer the filled molds to the freezer. Allow them to freeze for at least 4 hours, or until the discs are completely solid.

Serve: Once frozen, gently remove the discs from the molds. If you used a baking sheet, carefully peel off the parchment paper. Enjoy immediately or store any extras in an airtight container in the freezer for future enjoyment.

Optional Toppings: Just before serving, consider sprinkling crushed nuts, raisins, or granola on top for a delightful contrast in texture and flavor.
