Ingredients

1 medium seedless watermelon

8 oz dark chocolate (preferably 70% cocoa or higher for a rich flavor)

1 tablespoon coconut oil (optional for a smoother melting process)

A pinch of sea salt (optional, for garnish)

1/2 cup crushed nuts (such as almonds or pistachios, optional for topping)

1/4 cup shredded coconut (optional for topping)

Instructions

Prepare the Watermelon:

    - Start by slicing the watermelon into 1-inch thick rounds. From each round, cut into triangles or rectangles of your choice. Aim for small, manageable, bite-sized pieces that will be easy to dip and eat.

      Freeze the Watermelon:

        - Arrange the watermelon pieces on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, making sure they are spaced out to prevent sticking. Place the baking sheet in the freezer for at least 2 hours, or until the pieces are completely frozen and firm.

          Melt the Chocolate:

            - Place the dark chocolate and coconut oil (if using) into a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second increments, stirring thoroughly between each interval until the chocolate is fully melted and glossy. If you prefer, you can use a double boiler to melt the chocolate over simmering water for better control.

              Dip the Watermelon:

                - Take the frozen watermelon pieces out of the freezer. Dip each piece halfway into the melted chocolate, allowing any excess chocolate to drip off back into the bowl. Return the chocolate-coated watermelon to the parchment-lined baking sheet.

                  Add Garnishes:

                    - While the chocolate is still warm and wet, sprinkle a touch of sea salt over each piece for a savory contrast. For added texture and flavor, feel free to sprinkle crushed nuts or shredded coconut on top of the chocolate before it sets.

                      Return to Freezer:

                        - Once all the watermelon pieces are dipped and garnished, place the baking sheet back in the freezer for about 30 minutes, allowing the chocolate to harden completely.

                          Serve:

                            - Serve your delightful Frozen Chocolate Dipped Watermelon straight from the freezer. This refreshing treat is perfect for hot days and a healthy dessert option that everyone will love!
