Ingredients

8 oz (225g) bittersweet chocolate, finely chopped

4 oz (113g) milk chocolate, finely chopped

4 oz (113g) white chocolate, finely chopped

1 cup (240ml) heavy cream

1 tsp pure vanilla extract

1/4 cup (60ml) coffee liqueur (optional)

1/2 cup (60g) unsweetened cocoa powder (for coating)

1/2 cup (90g) chocolate sprinkles (for coating)

1/2 cup (60g) finely chopped nuts (hazelnuts or almonds, for coating)

Instructions

Prepare the Chocolate Mixture: In a medium heatproof bowl, meticulously combine the finely chopped bittersweet, milk, and white chocolate. Set the bowl aside to keep the chocolate warm.

Heat the Cream: In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat. Keep a close eye on it until it begins to simmer gently (avoid boiling). Once simmering, stir in the vanilla extract and the optional coffee liqueur for added depth of flavor.

Combine Cream and Chocolate: Carefully pour the hot cream over the chocolate mixture. Allow it to sit undisturbed for about 3-4 minutes; this extra time helps soften the chocolate. Then, gently stir the mixture until it achieves a smooth and glossy consistency, ensuring all the chocolate is melted.

Chill the Mixture: Cover the bowl with plastic wrap tightly. Refrigerate the ganache for approximately 2 hours or until it firms up enough to be easily scooped.

Shape the Truffles: Upon chilling, take a melon baller or teaspoon and scoop out small portions of the ganache. Use your hands to roll each scoop into a smooth ball, working quickly to maintain the shape.

Coat the Truffles: Prepare three shallow dishes for the coatings: one with unsweetened cocoa powder, another with chocolate sprinkles, and the last with finely chopped nuts. Carefully roll each truffle in your desired coating until it is completely covered.

Chill Again: Arrange the coated truffles on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Place the sheet in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to allow the truffles to firm up further before serving them.

Serve and Enjoy: Once sufficiently chilled, plate the truffles on a beautiful serving platter. They can be enjoyed either chilled or at room temperature, allowing you to savor each luscious bite of rich chocolate delight!
