Ingredients

2 cups pecan halves

1/2 cup pure maple syrup

1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon fine sea salt

A pinch of nutmeg (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Begin by setting your oven to preheat at 350°F (175°C). To make cleanup easy later on, line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.

Prepare the Maple Coating: In a medium-sized bowl, combine the pure maple syrup, melted unsalted butter, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, fine sea salt, and a pinch of nutmeg if you’re using it. Whisk the mixture thoroughly until all ingredients are completely blended and smooth.

Combine Pecans with Coating: Introduce the pecan halves into the bowl with the maple mixture. Gently fold and stir until each pecan is generously coated with the sweet mixture, ensuring no pecans are left dry.

Spread and Roast: Transfer the coated pecans onto the lined baking sheet, spreading them out in a single layer. Take care not to overcrowd the pecans, as this will allow them to roast evenly and become perfectly crunchy.

Bake to Perfection: Place the baking sheet into the preheated oven and roast the pecans for about 15-20 minutes. Stir the pecans every 5 minutes to ensure they don’t burn. They are done when they turn a golden brown and emit a delightful, nutty aroma.

Cooling and Storing: After baking, remove the baking sheet from the oven and let the pecans cool on the sheet. As they cool, they will develop a satisfying crunch. Once completely cooled, transfer the pecans to an airtight container and store them at room temperature, where they will remain fresh for up to two weeks.

Prep Time: 5 minutes | Total Time: 30 minutes | Servings: 4-6 servings

                - Presentation Tips: For a beautiful display, consider serving the roasted pecans in a charming bowl drizzled with a light additional drizzle of maple syrup, or scattered over a salad for added crunch and flavor.
