Ingredients

3 ripe bananas, mashed

1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 teaspoon baking soda

Pinch of salt

3/4 cup granulated sugar (or brown sugar for a richer flavor)

1 large egg, beaten

1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup walnuts, chopped and lightly toasted for enhanced flavor

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare a 4x8 inch loaf pan by greasing it well or lining it with parchment paper to facilitate easy removal of the bread.

Mash the Bananas: In a large mixing bowl, use a fork or a potato masher to thoroughly mash the ripe bananas until they reach a smooth consistency.

Combine Wet Ingredients: Pour the melted butter into the bowl with the mashed bananas. Stir until thoroughly mixed, then add the baking soda and a pinch of salt, combining everything well.

Incorporate Sugar, Egg, and Vanilla: Add the sugar (sugar type of your choice), the beaten egg, and the vanilla extract to the banana mixture. Stir until all ingredients are well blended.

Add the Flour: Gradually fold in the all-purpose flour using a spatula or wooden spoon. Mix until just combined; it's important to avoid overmixing, so don't worry if there are a few lumps left.

Fold in Walnuts: Gently add the chopped walnuts, folding them into the batter evenly across the mixture.

Transfer to Pan: Carefully pour the mixture into the prepared loaf pan. Smooth the top with a spatula to ensure even baking.

Bake: Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 60-65 minutes. The bread is ready when a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Cool Down: After baking, take the loaf out of the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Then, transfer the loaf to a wire rack to cool completely.

Slice and Enjoy: Once the banana bread has cooled, slice it into generous pieces and savor it plain or with a pat of butter for extra deliciousness!
