Ingredients

3 cups fresh broccoli florets, blanched and chopped

6 large eggs

1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1/2 cup milk (whole or low-fat)

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)

1/4 teaspoon paprika (for garnish)

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Start by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C). Prepare a 9x13 inch baking dish by greasing it with butter or using a non-stick spray to ensure easy removal after baking.

Prepare the Broccoli: Bring a pot of water to a boil. Once boiling, add the broccoli florets and blanch them for 2-3 minutes until they turn bright green and are tender-crisp. After blanching, drain the broccoli and immediately transfer it to a bowl of ice water to halt the cooking process. Once cooled, drain again and chop the florets into bite-sized pieces.

Whisk the Eggs: In a large mixing bowl, crack open the 6 eggs. Add the milk, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt. Using a whisk, beat the mixture vigorously until all the ingredients are thoroughly combined and a bit frothy.

Combine Ingredients: Carefully fold the chopped broccoli and the shredded cheddar cheese into the egg mixture. Ensure everything is evenly coated and distributed for consistent flavor in every bite.

Transfer to Baking Dish: Pour the combined mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly. Top with the grated Parmesan cheese for a deliciously cheesy crust.

Bake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes. The bake is ready when the edges are lightly golden and the center is set. A knife inserted in the center should come out clean.

Cool and Serve: After baking, carefully remove the dish from the oven and allow it to cool for 5-10 minutes. Before serving, garnish with a sprinkle of paprika and freshly chopped parsley for a pop of color. Cut into squares and enjoy warm!
