Ingredients

1 loaf of crusty bread (sourdough or French baguette recommended)

1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1 cup cooked and crumbled bacon (approximately 6-8 slices)

1/4 cup ranch dressing

1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh chives (or green onions)

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 teaspoon paprika (optional, for a hint of smokiness)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Start by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure it’s hot and ready for baking.

Prepare the Bread: Place the loaf of bread on a sturdy cutting board. Using a serrated knife, carefully make deep cuts into the bread about 1 inch apart, both horizontally and vertically, being cautious not to slice all the way through the bottom crust. This creates pocket spaces for the filling.

Mix the Filling: In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded cheddar cheese, crumbled bacon, ranch dressing, melted butter, chopped chives, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and paprika. Use a spoon or spatula to mix the ingredients together until everything is thoroughly combined.

Stuff the Bread: With the cuts you made in the bread, gently pull apart the sections and generously fill each gap with the cheesy bacon mixture, making sure it’s evenly spread throughout the loaf.

Wrap and Bake: Take a sheet of aluminum foil and wrap the stuffed loaf securely. Place the wrapped bread on a baking sheet to catch any drippings. Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes.

Unwrap and Crisp: After 15 minutes, carefully unwrap the foil from the bread. Return it to the oven for an additional 10-15 minutes. This step will allow the cheese to melt beautifully and the top to develop a golden, crispy texture.

Serve & Enjoy: Once done, remove from the oven and let the bread cool for a couple of minutes. Serve it warm, inviting guests to pull apart pieces of the cheesy, bacon-filled loaf. Enjoy the delightful blend of flavors!

                  - Presentation Tips: For an appealing presentation, place the pull-apart bread on a wooden board or a large platter. Consider garnishing it with extra chopped chives or a small bowl of ranch dressing for dipping on the side.
