Ingredients

1 package (1 sheet) of puff pastry, thawed

6 slices of bacon, chopped

1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

6 large eggs

1/4 cup milk

1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

1/4 teaspoon onion powder

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh chives or parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C). Generously grease a muffin tin with non-stick cooking spray or a light layer of butter to ensure easy removal of the puff cups.

Cook the Bacon: In a skillet set over medium heat, add the chopped bacon and cook until it’s crispy and golden, approximately 5-7 minutes. Once cooked, transfer the bacon to a plate lined with paper towels to absorb any excess grease.

Prepare the Puff Pastry: On a lightly floured surface, unroll the sheet of puff pastry. With a sharp knife or pizza cutter, cut the pastry into 12 equal squares, each roughly 3 inches on each side. Take each square and gently press it into the bottom and up the sides of the muffin tin cups to create a small pastry shell.

Mix the Filling: In a spacious mixing bowl, use a whisk to combine the eggs, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until the mixture is well-blended and fluffy.

Assemble the Cups: Evenly distribute the cooked bacon across the bottom of the pastry-lined muffin cups. Then, sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese on top of the bacon. Carefully pour the egg mixture over the bacon and cheese until each cup is approximately 3/4 full. (Note: You may have some egg mixture left over depending on the size of your muffin cups.)

Bake: Place the filled muffin tin in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the egg is fully set and the pastry has turned a beautiful golden brown.

Cool and Serve: After baking, remove the muffin tin from the oven and allow the puff cups to cool for a few minutes. To release them, gently run a butter knife around the edges of each cup before carefully lifting them out of the tin.

Garnish and Enjoy: Before serving, sprinkle the puff cups with freshly chopped chives or parsley for a pop of color and freshness. Enjoy these delightful Cheddar Bacon Egg Puff Cups warm!
