1 cup unsweetened applesauce

1/2 cup almond butter (or peanut butter)

1/3 cup honey (or maple syrup)

1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 cup fresh apples, diced (approximately 2 medium-sized apples)

1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)

1/4 cup raisins or dried cranberries (optional)

Preheat the Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare an 8x8 inch baking dish by lining it with parchment paper, allowing some extra paper to hang over the edges. This will facilitate easy removal later on.

    Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, thoroughly combine the rolled oats, ground cinnamon, baking soda, and salt. Stir the mixture well to ensure the baking soda and salt are evenly distributed throughout the oats.
